$11,000 in food cards to be given to Club Members

In December 2011, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County received a donation from a local family foundation valued at $11,000.  The donation is in the form of 110 gift cards of $100 each which can be used at any of the Markets stores including the Markets, Food Pavilion and Cost Cutter.

The purpose of the donation is to provide “a mainstream shopping experience with fresh and at least partially local food items” for the families of our Club members who have been identified as needing support.  Approximately 60% of our Club Members in Anacortes, La Conner, Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley are on free and reduced lunch programs at school.
