Halloween Fun at Mt.Vernon Club!

The Halloween fun has definitely already begun at the Mt. Vernon Club! This week has been full of fun activities including slime relays, tissue ghosts and some amazing pumpkin carving done by our teens. Club members even got a chance to turn a few staff members into mummies! We hope everyone has a safe and spooktacular Halloween!

6th Annual Harvest Party

The Anacortes Club is gearing up for its 6th Annual Harvest Party this Saturday evening. Families will be joining us for an evening of fun with a Monster Lab, Caramel Apples, Pumpkin Painting, a Costume Contest and MORE! The fun begins at 7:00 and is $5 per person, or $15 per family! Come join in!

Outside Fun!

The Mount Vernon Club Members have definitely been taking advantage of all the great weather we’ve had the last few weeks. Club members have been able to get outside to participate in fun, engaging activities including an intense Candy Corn Relay, a great Co-Op A-walk race and lots of hockey and soccer games! We encourage everyone to Stay Active & Have Fun!

Fire Safety Week

La Conner Club Members practiced their skills in honor of Fire Safety Week, with Stop, Drop and Roll relay races and Sparky the Fire Safety Dalmation art activities. Remember to check the batteries in those smoke alarms and practice your evacuation drills!

The Health & Life Skills Cooking Club

The Health & Life Skills Cooking Club is off to a great start at the Mount Vernon Club! Club members are learning a great deal about nutrition and smart food choices and yesterday we even enjoyed yummy granola and berry parfaits! Up next on the menu: Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies!

Youth of the Month – October, 2011.

Jasmine S.

Jasmine S., Age 7
Jasmine is a student at Madison Elementary. She has been a member for 1 year. Some of Jasmine’s favorite activities at the Mount Vernon Club include participating in Arts & Crafts, playing board games and coloring. She is also a Power Hour superstar.

Gary H., Age 8
Gary is a student at Madison Elementary. He has been a member for 2 years. Gary enjoys participating in Triple Play Sports Activities, building Lego constructions and playing on the computers. He is also an active member of our Creative Writing Club.

Youth of the Month – October, 2011.

Daven D.

Daven D., Age 14
Daven attends Discovery School and has been attending the Sedro-Woolley Club for over years. Daven can be found hanging out in the Teen Room, participating in Keystone Club, or playing foosball, dodge ball and soccer. Daven was chosen as Teen of the Month because he always tries to help the younger kids and makes a point of playing games with them in the game room.

 

 

Shaely S.

Shaely S., Age 10
Shaely attends Evergreen Elementary and has been attending the Club for 8 and ¾ months. Shaely enjoys participation in Cooking Club, Power Hour, SMART Girls and the art program. She was honored as member of the month because she is a great role model for all Club Members and can always be counted on to help out.

 

 

Tiernan D.

 

Tiernan D., Age 8
Tiernan attends Evergreen Elementary and has been attending the Club for a year. You can usually find Tiernan playing games and sports inside and outside the Club. Tiernan was chosen for this honor because he is kind, respectful and displays good sportsmanship.
