Veterinary Technician visits Anacortes Club

The Anacortes Club welcomed Special Guest Annie Pulzone on Monday, March 26th. Annie is a veterinary technician at Fidalgo Animal Medical Center in Anacortes and joined us for an hour long presentation about the field of veterinary medicine. Annie’s dog, Tesh, also joined us, bringing lots of smiles and fun to this great presentation! Thank you, Annie and Tesh!

Clubs Closed for Spring Break

Our Anacortes, La Conner, Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley Clubs will be closed the week of Monday, April 2 in observance of Spring Break.  We will reopen for regular program hours beginning on Monday, April 9.

Sedro-Woolley Club recognizes School District.

The Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club recently recognized the Sedro-Woolley School District for their support and advocacy since the opening of the Boys & Girls Club on the Cascade Middle School Campus in 2001. The school district offers transportation from most of their elementary schools to the Boys & Girls Club and has been a great supporter of the Club’s after-school and teen programs. Violet Richardson Award Meeting



Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club Member Beth Wilson, 17, is the recipient of the Violet Richardson Award from Soroptimist International of Sedro-Woolley. A junior at Sedro-Woolley High School, Beth has been a Member of the Boys & Girls Club since she was , and started volunteering with the Club when she was 14. Sedro-Woolley Soroptimist Scholarship Chair Becky Taft presented Beth with a check for $100 for her endeavors and another gift $300 was presented to the agency where she’s done so much great work. Congratulations Beth, on making the Boys & Girls Club, and your community, a better place!

Sedro-Woolley Teens Tour WWU!

On March 27th, 2012, Keystone Club Teens from the Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club toured Western Washington University! The boys were excited about all the different opportunities for every student, from the student rec center to the different programs they could study. Thank you to WWU for hosting and inspiring our teens to pursue a post-secondary education!

$15,000 Grant from Medina Foundation

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County is pleased to announce that the organization has recently been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Medina Foundation based in Seattle, Washington. 

The Medina Foundation’s mission is to improve lives by funding human service organizations that provide direct support to Puget Sound residents.

The funds will be used to support our Priority Outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles at our Clubs in Anacortes, La Conner, Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley.

Sedro-Woolley Club at Wood Fest

Wood Fest is the kick off to the TULIP FESTIVAL! Celebrate Wood this Saturday, March 31st: 9am – 4pm and Sunday, April 1st: 10am-3pm.

The Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club will offer Arts & Crafts for kids of all ages both days! Other activities include Woodworking Demonstrations, Presentations & Vendors, Student Projects, and Auctions!

Sedro-Woolley High School Gym – Lots of fun things planned, stop in!
