Anacortes Club Opens New Location

Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the new Anacortes Club

The Anacortes Club officially opened its doors on Monday, September 10. To celebrate its grand opening, the Club held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, September 11. Mayor Dean Maxwell presided over the ceremony, welcoming the Club to its new home at City Hall alongside Community Council Chair Phillip Prud’homme, Anacortes Chamber Board President Kristi Gabrielse, Anacortes Unit Director Angela Freeberg, Youth of the Year Erin Huffstodt and Elijah Zachry, Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County Chief Professional Officer David Conover, Anacortes Chamber Executive Director Stephanie Hamilton and Skagit County Commissioner Ron Wesen. The Anacortes Club also recognized the generous donations from all around Anacortes who helped with the move, as well as the many volunteers. The Open House was also a time of reflection. September 11 is the national day of service and remembrance, which was honored at the Anacortes Club with recognition of city police, firefighters and national guard. With that, the Anacortes Club also launched its Year of Service initiative. 135 Club families and community members joined the Anacortes Club for its grand opening celebration. Dinner was provided by Little Caesar’s pizza. Thank you to all who came out and made this such a special event. If you have not seen the new Anacortes Club, feel free to stop by! We are now located at 904 6th st, in the basement at City Hall.
