Anacortes Healthy Habits Club

The Anacortes Healthy Habits Club makes english muffin pizzas

The Boys & Girls Club of Anacortes is participating in Boys & Girls Club of America’s Healthy Habits program, part of a national initiative called Triple Play: A Game Plan for the Mind, Body and Soul. Healthy Habits demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit, and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle for Club members. Over the last few weeks, we have learned about the food pyramid, food groups, and healthy portion sizes. Every lesson is accompanied with a healthy snack prepared by the youth. Whole wheat personal English muffin pizzas is our favorite recipe so far! Healthy Habits is currently offered on Mondays from 4:30-5:30pm for youth 6-8 years of age.

Want to get involved in Healthy Habits but can’t make the meetings? Check back each week for a new recipe or activity straight from the group! Below is our favorite pizza recipe to start you off:

Whole Wheat Personal Pizzas

NOTES:
* When selecting English Muffins, check the ingredient list to ensure whole wheat is the FIRST ingredient
* Select a spaghetti sauce with less than 10g of sugar, we used Classico Marinara with Plum Tomato
* Use low fat/skim milk shredded mozerella cheese to reduce fat content
