Cooking Club @ SW

Sedro-Woolley Members participate in Cooking Club every Friday. This month they each had the chance to make some breakfast fun with their own pancakes. Members each mixed a pancake in a separate bowl, working it until the mix had the right amount of water and consistency. Instead of using syrup the kids made silly faces with strawberries, bananas, and a low sugar whipped topping. This gave the kids an opportunity to decorate and have fun with healthy snacks. We were able to engage the kids in discussion about all the sugars they eat, in this case syrup, and how a sweet and tasty treat can also be healthy by using alternative toppings that are just as good.
