The ImageMakers Photography Program is designed to help members go beyond snapshots and develop skills to take photographs that can really impact the viewer. The current popularity and accessibility of photography makes it a powerful means to engage youth of all ages in creative programming, simultaneously teaching skills they will use for the rest of their lives. For some youth, photography opens a door to creative self-expression that no other art form allows. Club Mentors can use resources & tools on www.myclubmylife.com to teach younger Members about photography.

Selected photos compete at the Club level where winners are selected to go on to the Regional Competition in California, with the possibility of moving on to National. Club members’ photographs selected at the contest’s national level are exhibited at the Boys & Girls Club of America National Conference and other events. Each winning artist’s work is featured in a virtual gallery on the ImageMakers website, www.imagemakersbgca.org. National Winners are announced in the Summer.
