Boys & Girls Clubs of America and EPA ENERGY STAR have partnered again to give all Clubs across the United States an opportunity to participate in energy conservation/efficiency initiatives. This year, Team ENERGY STAR also included themes from the recently released animated movie, Epic.

New this year was the challenge to help EPA ENERGY STAR create a Team ENERGY STAR Book filled with collective energy-saving success stories, titled, “Our EPIC Fight to Protect the Climate with ENERGY STAR”.

Over 200 Club Members across America entered  stories. Morgan, age 10, submitted two short stories and both were chosen. For being selected, Morgan will receive a copy of the book “Our EPIC Fight to Protect the Climate with ENERGY STAR” (available September 2013), and a set of movie tickets to see Epic with her family.

The La Conner Boys & Girls Club would like to congratulate Morgan for becoming a published author by writing about such important issues as conservation and energy efficiency.

Morgan has been a Member of the La Conner Club for years with her brother Miles. She was a former Youth of the Month, and she participates in Junior StaffTorch Club and Knitting Club programs.
