SW Keystone Club Serves Dinner

MV kids

The Keystone Clubs from the Sedro-Woolley and Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Clubs worked together to serve dinner to the Skagit community at The Well on Wednesday, November 27th from 5:00-7:00pm for National Family Week.

The Well is a church located in downtown Mount Vernon that offers free dinners to the community during the last five days of the month. Members began the evening by placing all prepared foods in their designated areas. Members were then assigned various duties by Well staff throughout the evening that included serving food to families, scraping and washing dishes, and refilling food and drink as needed. Once the kitchen stopped serving food at 7:00pm, the group then helped wipe down tables, put up chairs, vacuum, dump garbage, and wash dishes. The group served over 200 dinners and expressed that they love helping at The Well because they feel like they have made an impact where it matters most.
Matt and Cheryl Kaufman have been providing this service at The Well for several years and rely on the help of community volunteers like our Keystone Club Members to make the dinners a success. Thanks Matt and Cheryl for continuing this vital service and for giving our Club kids the opportunity to make a difference.
