LC Enjoys Winter in Seattle

Teens enjoy taking in the sights of Seattle.

Teens enjoy taking in the sights of Seattle.

On Saturday, December 14, 10 La Conner Brave Heroes Torch Club Members and Teens took a field trip to Seattle to celebrate the winter season. The first stop was the Seattle Center where youth visited the fountain and watched a variety of musical and dance performances. They also investigated the winter train and village.

Next was a first experience for many as Members hit the ice for some skating fun thanks to Seattle Center. The adventure continued as youth got on the monorail to head downtown.  Torch Members loved seeing the lights and decorations of downtown Seattle  while visiting the Sheraton Hotel’s Gingerbread Village, walking through Pike Place Market with a stop at the infamous gum wall.

The evening came to a close with a wonderful dinner of pizza thanks to the generous donation from Zeek’s Pizza and sightseeing at the Space Needle and the city at night on our way back to La Conner. Members were full of smiles, laughter and singing voices on the trip home and will be sharing memories of their adventures for a long time.

Thank you to Zeek’s Pizza, Seattle Center, Seattle Monorail and Burlington ARCO gas station for all of your support and making this trip possible for our Club Members.
