LC Protects Animals With Care

Club Members get a visit from La Conner Veterinary Hospital

Club Members learn about animal care from a representative of the La Conner Veterinary Hospital

On Monday, December 9th, La Conner Torch Club Members got a chance to learn about animal care, grooming, and care techniques for dogs and cats. Thank you to La Conner Veterinary Hospital’s Marion Gries for coming in to talk to our Members and answer their questions.

This year, Brave Heroes Torch Club lessons are often focused on service and care to animals through the Boys and Girls Club National Project, P.A.W.S.: Protecting Animals with Service. Members take field trips, learn aspects of animal care, and will implement a related project they want to work on in the community.

BTorch PAWS logorave Heroes Torch Club Members recently took a trip to the local humane society in order to observe the staff, and help take care of the cats and dogs. They also decided to make dog treats as a fundraiser to support the services at the humane society and hope to continue volunteering with several organizations relating to animal care throughout the year.
