Members Make A Spinning, Flying Machine

This week’s Club ZOOM session, members learned about gyrocopters and how their spinning wings have the effect of slowing its fall to the ground. ClubZOOM activities help members to learn that science is interesting and something that they can do.

Below are the steps for you try at home.

 

Materials:

  • Piece of Paper
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paper Clip

Instructions:

Gyrocopter Fold Guides.

  1. Carefully copy this pattern onto your piece of paper.
  2. Cut along the two dotted lines.
  3. Fold one of the flaps along the solid black line.
  4. Turn the gyrocopter over and fold over the second flap.Fold over the small flap at the bottom, and slide on the paper clip. Throw it into the air as high as you can.
