MoNA Partners with La Conner Club, Forms Art Club

Museum of Northwest Art is partnering with the La Conner Boys & Girls Club for the 2013-14 School Year

The La Conner Boys & Girls Club is proud to announce its partnership with the Museum of Northwest Art (MoNA) for the 2013-14 school year. This partnership will allow the La Conner Club to form an Art Club.

Through the MoNA Outreach Program, Link Program Student Teachers will make a weekly visit to the Club every Friday to introduce the museum’s exhibitions to Members. This program will also cover museum etiquette, and how to observe and discuss artwork using visual thinking strategies. The meeting will conclude with a hands-on art project.
The following Friday, the Members will tour the present exhibition, Reflections. When Members return to the Club, they will create an original piece in the style of the exhibition they learned about the previous weeks.
The MoNA Art Club will begin Friday, September 13th and will run from 2:30-3:30pm in the Art Room, with the exhibition trip taking place Friday, September 20th from 3:00-4:00pm.  If you are interested in signing up your Member for this fantastic experience, please see our Membership Assistant, Bailey Wyles or Club Director, Kendrick Davis-Pittmon.
