MV Keystone & Torch Clubs Support Habitat for Humanity

Keystone & Torch Club members stuff envelopes.

The Mount Vernon Keystone Club took a little journey down to Habitat for Humanity this week to help with their December fund raising campaign.  Teen members invited 6th grade youth members, who are part of Torch Club, to come help with the project as well. Both leadership and service clubs created an assembly line to fill envelopes with invitation slips and donation slips. Members managed to stuff 1500+ envelopes that day!

Keystone Club and Torch Club continued to support Habitat for Humanity on the next club day by stamping pre-paid postage, sticking return addresses and sorting by zip code the 1500+ envelopes that they had previously stuffed.

Habitat for Humanity is located in downtown Mount Vernon and it provides modest, safe, sustainable homes to low-income families. They also recycle by selling building materials that would otherwise go to landfills.
