Community members, business owners and civic leaders joined together bright and early at the Anacortes Boys & Girls Club on the morning of Thursday, May 21st for the Clubs Annual Breakfast Fundraiser.

Guests were greeted at the door by enthusiastic Club members and shown to their seats. Each table was filled with vibrant color, celebrating the Club’s commitment to helping its members Learn, Live and Lead through Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles and Good Character & Citizenship. Club members were able to express their creativity through personalized canvas centerpieces, allowing them to share how they Learn, Live and Lead at the Club.

Community members were treated to inspiring speeches from Club staff, members and parents, detailing the Club’s impact in the lives. The 2014 Anacortes Youth of the Year, Karen Gallardo, shared the Club’s impact for her, personally, before delivering a strong message of need for the support from the Anacortes Community. Our community rose to this need, demonstrating the incredible commitment this community has continued to show for the Club and the youth who walk through our doors daily.

So far this year’s Breakfast has raised $28,000 to fund targeted programs at the Anacortes Boys & Girls Club. None of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors; Anacortes Kiwanis Sunrisers, Strandberg Custom Homes & Design, RIS Insurance, Cap Sante Inn and our great community here in Anacortes.
