Winter Fundraiser 2014 Recap

Winter Times

A big Sedro-Woolley thank you to all of the 150 guests that attended the 6th Annual Winter Fundraiser to benefit the 350 youth who attend the Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club. Once again, the wonderful students and staff of the Cascade Job Corps who volunteered their time and efforts to pull off an amazing dinner.

The event consisted of a wonderful silent auction, an exciting raffle, and possibly the best Bid for the Kids ever ever. Last year’s Bid for Kids brought $3,300 to the youth of Sedro-Woolley, so Club Director John Garman threw his iconic beard onto the chopping block this year stating, “If we bring in $4,000 I will shave my beard, right here.” Attendees donated over $7,500 at this year’s Bid for Kids, so John recruited long time Club Member Adriana Timblin to do the honors and shave off his beard.

Overall, the event was a huge success, we saw many new donors and many individuals who have been supporting the Club for years. The Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club raised $16,000 at the event, which will go a long way in making an impact on the youth of Sedro-Woolley for this school year.
