During Youth for Unity this week, teen members discovered others’ perceptions. Teens were asked to interview each other and then describe the qualities of that person being interviewed. Teens were separated into two groups; Hiring Manager and Interviewee. The “Managers” received a questionnaire that they would use to ask their partner, the “Interviewee”, about their strengths, challenges, and accomplishments. The manager had to then identify the unique characteristics of their partner. After the completion of this exercise, the teen members swapped roles. The teens attained the goal of this lesson which was to analyze differences between self-perceptions and others’ perceptions.
