Sedro-Woolley Helps at Food Bank

Sedro-Woolley Members bag 3000 lbs of rice to be distributed to over 500 families for the Thanksgiving weekend.

13 of our Members helped process and distribute food Wednesday, November 21st at the Helping Hands Food Bank in Sedro-Woolley. We bagged enough rice for 540 families at just over 3000 lbs of rice. In the past we have contacted different places to volunteer in the community, but this was the first time that the Food Bank contacted us to help out for their pre-Thanksgiving distribution day. They handed out food for over 800 families today. It’s so important for our Members to participate in our community food drive, process the donated foods, and then distribute it directly to needy families in their community. Being a part of this holiday distribution brings it full circle for our Members and instills in them the importance of playing a vital role in their community.
