Jazzelle Elias – 2015 Youth of the Year

15 year old Jazzelle Elias has been attending the Teen Center for three years.  She is currently a freshman at Sedro-Woolley High School, where she is a member of the Robotics Club, takes several honors classes, and plays the violin in orchestra. She has plans to pursue a career in science, though she is still unsure of which field to specialize in. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, and journaling.

Madisen Cork – 2014

On Madisen’s first day at the Sedro-Woolley Club she was a bright and vibrant 8 year old girl. She grew up in the Club, very eager to participate in the Teen program. Eight years later Madisen is a leader amongst her peers, she’s an active Teen Leader and Keystone participant. She spends her time at the Club, socializing, studying and giving back to the community through volunteer opportunities with her fellow Teen Members.

Cody Arendse – 2013

Cody Arendse is 18 years old and has been a member of the Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club since he was a seventh grader at Cascade Middle School. Cody is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School and will be graduation this spring.

Cody began attending the Boys & Girls Club at the urging of his mother and has been a regular attendee since. His love of chess flourished at The Club which prompted him to join the SWHS Chess Club. Cody has helped with numerous community service projects over the years such as the Teen Center’s annual food drive, trips to the Humane Society, and volunteering at the Open Door Community Kitchen. Cody is currently completing his Senior Project on Law Enforcement.

Adriana Timblin and Ryan Pierce -2013 Jr. Youth of the Year

Adriana Timblin – 2013 Junior Youth of the Year

Adriana is 11 years old and a 6th grader at Mary Purcell Elementary School. She has been attending the Boys & Girls Club for 2 ½ years. Adriana is very active at the Club, where she participates in the Power Hour Homework Program, SMART Kids and SMART Girls. She was also chosen as a Junior Staff two different times and enjoys volunteering with Torch Club, a community service group for ‘tweens. Adriana says “The Boys & Girls Club has helped me to make new friends and to get along better with my sister. I know I can talk to the staff or volunteers if I have problems and it’s helped me to do good in school. I also like that I’m able to volunteer in the community with my friends from the Club.”

Ryan Pierce – 2013 Junior Youth of the Year
Ryan is 11 years old and attends Central Elementary School. Ryan has been coming to the Sedro-Woolley Club since for 5 years. He has been very active at the Club, participating in everything from SMART Kids to SMART Guys, Chess Club to Junior Staff, Power Hour to Triple Play. Ryan enjoys volunteering in the community through Boys & Girls Club’s Torch Club Community Service group. Ryan says, “I love the Boys & Girls Club! It has helped me be a better person. The staff are great and everbody is kind and fun. I can’t help but feel honored about this award.”



Rocky Bliss.

Rocky Bliss– 2012
Rocky, 16, is a junior at Sedro-Woolley High School. He has attended the Club for more than ten years and is a consistent, helpful, reliable Member of the team. When club staff ask for his help, he’s there. When his friends ask for help, he’s there. Rocky participates in Teen Nights, Junior Staff, and the Teen Keystone Club. Rocky has helped with countless community service projects and club events and assists Club members and Club volunteers with art projects, games and tournaments. Rocky plans to enlist in the Air Force after high school.


Katie Davis.

Katie Davis– 2012
Katie, 11 ½, is a fifth grader at Mary Purcell and has attended the Sedro-Woolley Club since first grade. Katie has been a very active Club Member; she participates in Smart Girls, Torch Club Community Service Group, arts and crafts, Science Club, Knitting Club and the Power Hour Homework Help program. Katie can often be found in the Learning Center or the Art Room.


Jacob Gwin.


 Jacob Gwin– 2012
Jacob, age 10, is a fourth grader at Evergreen Elementary School. Jacob started attending the Club in first grade and has participated in many Club Programs like soccer, fitness challenges, Power Hour homework help, S.M.A.R.T. Guys, and Science Club. Jacob is a current Junior Staff Member so he can often be found helping Club Staff.
