SMART Kids Discuss Character

Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator Leah Vazquez and Club Members discuss personal characteristics

Today, a group of La Conner Club Members participating in the SMART Kids program discussed the characteristics we all possess that make us good friends.  They talked about how we all have things in common but that we’re all unique too, and that’s what makes our friendships and relationships special and interesting.

The Members created personal ads to explore what characteristics they each bring to a friendship then drew pictures of themselves to accompany the advertisements.  We then discussed how we can all strive to improve our own character and what each of us could do to be better friends.
SMART Kids gives Club Members the skills and training to stay healthy in all aspects of life.  By learning to respect ourselves and each other, and to resist peer pressure, Members learned how to safely resist unhealthy substances.
SMART Kids meets Fridays from 4:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.  If you are interested in signing up your Member please contact Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator, Leah Vazquez or Program Director, Annie Webb at (360) 466-3672.
