SMART Kids Stay Healthy
This week the La Conner SMART Kids talked about how important it is to take care of their bodies. Members traced outlines of themselves then searched through magazines to find photos that represent healthy habits. Examples included nutritious foods, fitness activities, good hygiene and proper safety habits. These photos were then glued inside the outline of their bodies. Photos depicting unhealthy behavior were glued outside the outlines.
Members also discussed the value of goal setting when trying to take care of themselves. If we want to have healthy teeth, we need to set goals to brush and floss every day!
SMART Kids gives Club Members the skills and training to stay healthy in all aspects of life. By learning to respect themselves and each other, and to resist peer pressure, Members learn how to safely resist unhealthy substances.
SMART Kids meets Fridays from 4:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. If you are interested in singing up your member, please contact Club Director Leah Vazquez at (360)466-3672.
