What Makes A Role Model?

Stay S.M.A.R.T. is a component of the S.M.A.R.T. Moves Program for 10-12 year olds. The purpose of this program is to give members a forum to find out more about themselves and learn tools to be successful in school, home, and in the community.

In this week’s Stay S.M.A.R.T. session at the La Conner Club, Members thought about ┬árole models and people in their own community as well as others they know and admire. Each member was given a piece of paper on which they listed ten role models and a description of why each is admirable. From teachers, parents, friends, and Club staff, Members gave great examples of people and characteristics they admire.┬áBy identifying the positive characteristics of role models, members can begin to incorporate those characteristics into themselves.

The La Conner Club offers Stay S.M.A.R.T. every Monday from 4:00pm – 4:45pm.
