Summer Robotics Program

Summer Robotics Program

The Anacortes Club is excited to offer a Summer Robotics Program this year.

This summer the Anacortes Boys & Girls Club will be sponsoring a First Lego League robotics program. In the fall, two teams will be formed to participate in the 2013 First Lego League Challenge. This year the challenge is called “Nature’s Fury”. The summer program is designed to teach potential team members how to build a robot from a Lego Mindstorm set , how to use motors and sensors, and how to program the robot on a laptop computer.

If you are interested in participating in the workshop, you may sign up for the Boys & Girls Club summer program, and come to the workshops on Fridays from 2pm to 4pm (exception dates: July 2, August 15). The program will run June 28th thru August 15th.

Any boys and girls wanting to be on a robotics team in the fall needs to attend the workshops this summer. The age limit for being on a First Lego League Robotics team is 9-14, but any Club members may attend the workshops.

For more information, speak to volunteer Robin Catlin, or contact Membership Coordinator Cory Oppel at 360-588-9045 ext. 11. Registration forms are available at the Anacortes Club.
