SW Teen Center Power Hour

Teen ladies participate in Power Hour, the Homework Program in the Teen Center.

Everyday at 3:00 the Teens in Sedro-Woolley sit down and spend a minimum of thirty minutes working on their homework for the day. The Study Center stays nice and quiet until 4:00 so those Teens who still need time to work can do so free of distraction. Doing homework in the Teen Center has benefits besides just getting the work done and getting good grades. For every hour spent doing homework Teens earn ten “Teen Bucks” (a fictional form of money that allows teens to earn things like extra snack, video game time, and field trips) and for every good grade the Teens earn BONUS BUCKS! Teens also have access to the Education Coordinator during this time and dedicated Homework Volunteers, like the amazing Sylvia Matterand.

If you’re interested in Volunteering or tutoring teens in Math or Science, please contact Unit Director Jill Reid at 360-856-1830, ext 43, or via email at jreid@bgcskagit.org.
