As part of the Healthy Habits program the Teens in Sedr0-Woolley are conducting an experiment with food. They have taken a fast food burger and fries and placed them inside sealed container. They have also done the same thing with a home made burger and fries. Now they will see which one takes longer to decompose.

In future Healthy Habits sessions the Teens will check on the state of decay of their hamburgers. Identifying and analyzing the decomposition process of food will launch discussions about different ways to eat healthy.

Sedro-Woolley Teens performed a similar experiment last year using food from a different fast food location. They found that the homemade burger decayed much faster than the fast food burger, which just eventually molded. Teens are excited to find out if this year’s experiment will hold the same results.
