Six Teens from the Sedro-Woolley Boys & Girls Club went to Skagit Gleaners the morning of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Skagit Gleaners is an organization that helps families by allowing them to get free groceries in exchange for volunteer efforts. The Teens helped to sort and clean produce, fold clothes, and pick up litter around the outside of the building.

After the work was done and Gleaners staff and volunteers had gone through the shop, the Teens were allowed to do a little shopping of their own. They found lots of healthy fruits and vegetables to take home with them. The Gleaners even donated to some snacks to The Club.

Teens enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of something that has such a positive impact on the community.  They had such a good time they didn’t even mind having to get up at 7:00 in the morning.

Special thanks to George Weed and everyone else at Skagit Gleaners for giving Club Members the chance to build the Priority Outcome of Good Character & Citizenship.
