Teen Leaders of Mount Vernon

The Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Club has completed its first session of the Career Launch program. Teens were required to attend and participate in six Career Launch sessions at the Club emphasizing career exploration and how to apply for jobs. As part of the curriculum, Teens were required to participate in two mock interviews. In addition, they were expected to complete and submit a cover letter, resume and job application in order to become eligible to apply as a Teen Leader. The final step of the Teen Leader process involved a panel interview with Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Club Unit Director, Danielle Russell and a local business owner in Mount Vernon. The top two applicants were then selected and will now have the opportunity to serve at interns this spring and gain valuable mentoring and professional training experience at the Club.
The Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Club is proud to pronounce Nathan McCoy and Bobby Castro as our first Teen Leaders.
