Teens hold Career Fair

Saddie with Sedro-Woolley fire fighters

Teen Members learn about occupations including fire fighter.

On Wednesday, April 10 the Sedro-Woolley Teen Center held a Career Fair. Five professionals from the community came into the Teen Center and educated members and guests about their respective careers. It was an exciting and informative afternoon for teens as they learned about careers in law enforcement, emergency services, nature preservation, and archaeology  Speakers from the Police Department brought S.W.A.T. gear and the Fire Department had their firefighting gear so they could demonstrate how it all works. Archaeologist Garth brought some obsidian and other specimens of rock while Barbara from the National Park Service brought information all about local parks and the different job opportunities available at the Park Service.

The Teen Center would like to thank Braxton Kittrell and Toby David from the Sedro-Woolley Fire Department, Sgt. Dan McIlraith from the Sedro-Woolley Police Department, Barbara Johnson from North Cascades National Park, and archaeologist Garth Baldwin of Tierra Right of Way for all taking the time to come and teach our Teens about career opportunities in our community.
