“The Game”

Club Members play “The Game” every Friday afternoon

Members at the Anacortes Boys & Girls Club have created their own world inside of “The Game.” Created by a group of members between the ages of 7 and 11, The Game takes ideas from games like Skyrim, Halo, Minecraft, Adventure Quest, as well as the playing style of Dungeons and Dragons. Club members create their own characters; from humans to dragons. Characters fight evil within the world, ranging from zombies and reapers to raccoons and bunnies. Members have also worked together to create shops, from which they can buy or trade armor, potions and other goods with each other.

The Anacortes Club is proud to support the imaginations of its members within “The Game.” Members are able to express themselves through imaginative drawing while working together to add rules and ideas to the game. Creation of The Game follows the Boys & Girls Clubs priority outcome of Academic Success through Project Learn, which reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people during the time they spend at the Club, by spending their non-school hours engaged in fun, but academically beneficial activities.
