Rick “The Peanutman” Kaminski, a Seattle sport icon lent his notoriety to advance many charitable causes, but was especially fond of the Skagit Clubs. Scooter the Beer Guy is working to see that “The Peanutman’s” legacy continues as he stopped by our Administration office this last October to deliver welcome news. Scooter is the Chief Beverage Officer for STB Industries and the VP and Treasurer for the Rick the Peanutman Foundation. He can be seen lending his celebrity status at many sports events and fundraisers throughout the state. With an infectious, cheerful disposition, Scooter knows how to get the crowd into the spirit of the moment and was a great help to us as the bartender and auction spotter at our 2014 Gala. As the VP for the Rick the Peanutman Foundation, Scooter manages one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, the Rick Golf Classic held at the Nile Shrine Golf Center in Mount Lake Terrace, WA. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County is the main beneficiary of this fundraiser that brings talented golfers together from all over the country. In its first year, the Classic brought in $750 for the Clubs. News of the event has spread and the funds generated this year has more than tripled at $3,000. We are very grateful to the Rick the Peanutman Foundation for their support, and honored to see Rick Kaminski’s wishes validated.
