TOE explores Orcas Island

The view from Mount Constitution looking towards Mount Baker.

Great things are done when men and mountains meet. This is not done by jostling in the street.
– William Blake

Thanks to the generous support of the Skagit Community Foundation, Foothills Toyota, and the George B. & Ruth Elizabeth Ferguson Advised Fund – the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County is excited to continue our TOE (teen outdoor expeditions) program for Club Members in 7th grade and up.

Our second TOE (Teen Outdoor Expeditions) program is around the corner! In the month of November our teen members explore lovely Orcas Island and Mount Constitution during a day trip out to the San Juan Islands.

Each group leaves their Club early on Saturday morning for the drive the Washington State Ferry Terminal in Anacortes and the tranquil ferry ride to Orcas Island and Moran State Park. Starting at Mount Lake Campground, we follow the summit trail past Mountain Lake and Twin Lakes as it switchbacks to the top of Mount Constitution. From the summit we have panorama views of Puget Sound, the San Juans, Mount Baker and the North Cascades.

Lunch and snacks will be provided. If time allows we will explore the village of Eastsound before catching the ferry back home.

Sign your teen up at your local club today! The cost of the trip is $10. Space is limited.

Trip Dates:
Anacortes Club – November 03
La Conner Club – November 10
Mount Vernon Club – November 17
