Community Councils

Support your local Club by joining the Community Council.

Our four Community Councils are responsible for supporting the programs, staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and members of their Club. Our Community Councils work closely with Club staff while also supporting the Board of Directors during county wide events and initiatives. Each member of our Community Councils has two key areas of responsibility:

Advocacy
Each Community Council is responsible for advocating on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County organization as well is its programs, staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and most importantly – it’s Members. Advocacy duties include leading club membership drives, attending organization wide and club specific special events, scheduling Club visits with stakeholders and donors, and representing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County at various service/professional organizations, etc.

Development
Each Community Council is responsible for taking a  role in raising funds on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County. Fundraising obligations include maintaining and cultivating a donor portfolio, making a personal contribution to the organization, participating in our three major annual fundraising events, and securing Club Champion sponsorships.
